LOVE STILL WINS

A few weeks ago, the U.S. Supreme Court decided our Constitution applies to all citizens, handing down the decision on Marriage Equality.  Since then, we have faced a torrent of outright hatred, discrimination and violence from the ever humble pious Christian Right. For a group who claims LOVE as a central theme, Brutality seems to surpass Love by leaps and bounds in word and deed.

BRUTALITY is the most extreme expression of the rage caused by feelings of  Powerlessness.  The Brute is usually an emasculated male with fantasies of control, wealth and power. The more he tries to control the world around him, the more he finds it an impossible task.

He has long ago bartered any credibility he did have and as a result, is left with only rage in his repertoire of manipulation.  Lacking style, grace, and influence, he feels increasingly more impotent and isolated with every social failure. His rage builds, until soon, through uncontrollable outbursts, he discovers brutality gets the attention, obedience, control, he cannot attain otherwise.

Primitive minds see brutality as strength, when in fact, it's a desperate attempt to form strength of character out of a rotted mind, a mind which now believes out of this heinous behavior and treatment of others, he can shape a perfect environment of morality, basically Heaven on Earth.  Although this can never be, as it defies Universal Law, he begins to cultivate a following through fear and lies against those in society who are most misunderstood and marginalizes them further.  Building on fear and mistrust, he forms a sect, cult or religion, recruiting the disgruntled, disappointed and angry, until he has formed a coalition of hate to rid society of undesirables, those most offensive to the God he has created.

We've seen this guy come to power way too many times, but it's not only in governments where this happens. We are seeing this happen all across America in churches, towns, businesses and civic organizations. People whose dominance over a way of life is changing, are seeking someone to blame and somewhere to place the intense anger they're feeling. What is really fueling that anger are the lies they were told, about who they are and what they're entitled to have. People will do some pretty ugly things when they believe they are entitled to something and someone else begins to get it too.

Out of a religious justification, they lash out at other citizens who don't share their beliefs, beginning to assassinate their characters, create lies about their intentions and mislead the public with twisted half-facts about their actions. All in an effort to hang onto a lifestyle, that is now twisted beyond any recognition of anything that has come before.

These people, who often accuse others of what they are doing, profess to love their God, their country, their people, their church or mosque or synagogue, they say all they do is out of love, but there is no love in their method, no love in their words, no love in their actions, no love period.  One will never create a world of love from actions of fear.  It is impossible.  Even if you rid the planet of all of what you call heretics, non-believers, infidels, you would begin to see and direct your own dissatisfaction onto those who were at one time, your comrades in faith, and seek their destruction.

On the day of the Supreme Court decision on Marriage Equality, headlines across the country shouted out, "LOVE WINS" - On the other side of the world, ISIS, in an attempt to mock, shame and humiliate us, took gay men to the rooftops of high-rise buildings in Syria and Iraq and threw them off.  The headlines on their published photos of these barbaric actions, simply read:  "LOVE WINS"  This blog posting is dedicated to the men who gave their lives that day.  All I can say is thanks to them, "LOVE STILL WINS!" HATE cannot steal what is real. The illusion cannot extinguish the truth!  There are but two emotions LOVE & FEAR. OF these, only LOVE IS REAL!  FEAR IS AN ILLUSION.  Those men are back in the Stream of Love Eternal, may they be remembered for what they gave.
